Summary
Voting for the General Election takes place on November 4th, 2008. Voters can go to the polling places indicated in their voting registration certificate that is sent to them from the Board of Registrars from 7a.m. to 7p.m. If by any case one is absent for the voting date, they can apply for the absentee ballot application and mail their voting slips with a copy of their identification to the Absentee Election Manager or personally deliver it. For military personnels or Alabama citizens overseas, there are information on the procedures on
Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) website. Voting is strictly confidential.

All 67 counties in Alabama use the optical scan voting equipment. The company that provides the technology is ES&S, Election Systems and Software.
