SummaryIn order to register for vote in the State of Kansas, you must meet the following qualifications:

How to register Registration forms are available at many locations established by the county election officer. Banks, libraries, schools and government offices usually have them. Also, everyone receives the opportunity to register when applying for or renewing a drivers license or in applying for public assistance. The form may be printed from the
Secretary of States website or at the various county Web sites. Once obtaining a form, the person needs to fill out completely sign it and deliver or mail it to the county election officer in the county where they live. Faxed or electronic copies are not acceptable.

On an optical scan ballot, you make your selections by filling in ovals next to your choices. Darken the ovals completely rather than making a cross or a checkmark. A scanning machine reads the ovals and tallies your votes.
Use the pen or pencil provided to ensure the scanning machine accepts your ballot.
Mark the ballot according to the instructions at the top of the ballot.
You may write in a person's name if a blank line is provided as long as the name of the person you wish to vote for is not printed anywhere on the ballot.
When you have finished, check your ballot to ensure that you have voted in all the races and questions in which you intended to vote.
Make sure you didn't vote for more selections than allowed.
Insert your ballot in the secrecy sleeve and either hand it to an election board worker, or if the scanning machine is at the polling place, insert the ballot directly into the machine.
Before leaving, make sure the machine accepted your ballot.
Paper Ballots
On a hand-counted paper ballot, you make your selections by making crosses or checkmarks in boxes next to your choices.
Mark the ballot according to the instructions at the top of the ballot.
